๐Ÿ A Fun September Recipe Moodboard

Happy Weekend, Friend!

September is one of my FAVORITE months of the year. Wrapping up summer with Labor Day weekend, celebrating my birthday (I'm turning 40 this year!), and ushering in fall all give me that fresh start feeling.

This week, I freshened up my bedroom a bit, made myself a new fall phone wallpaper with my mood board in mind and it gave me the idea to make a September recipe mood board to kick off the month!

With that in mind, here are a few September recipes to set the mood:

easy weeknight dinner:

SLOW COOKER PUMPKIN TACO SOUP

Even if the weather isn't *quite* there for pumpkin or soup, this taco soup recipe always delivers. Pumpkin adds an extra layer of nutrition, while still letting the classic smoky, savory flavors shine.

my kids' favorite

PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS

Naturally sweetened, dairy-free, and SO easy to make! These have a surprising secret ingredient that really makes them stand out. These are so good we eat them year round!

fun snack:

HEALTHY PEANUT BUTTER CARAMEL DIP

Paired with crisp, juicy apple slices (or bananas or graham crackers!), this easy dip is SO GOOD this time of year.

5-star dessert:

GLUTEN-FREE APPLE SPICE CAKE

Ultra moist, deliciously spiced, and made with two forms of apple goodness. This one always delivers, especially with a scoop of ice cream & a drizzle of caramel or buttermilk syrup on top!

brand new recipe:

AIR FRYER BACON-WRAPPED CHICKEN TENDERS

We've been making this at least once a month since spring, and we cannot get enough. The smoky, savory, heartier flavors are great for the transition into fall!

THE ACTUAL BEST MUFFIN LINERS

I HATE losing half my muffin to the muffin liner, and these parchment paper liners are the most nonstick I've ever tried. They work like a dream for muffins and cupcakes! (Perfect for our pumpkin chocolate chip muffins!)

EASY RECIPES FOR LABOR DAY

EASY SLOW COOKER RIBS

Low effort, but BIG on flavor! Between the spice rub, the fall-off-the-bone texture, and our sticky BBQ finish, these ribs are SO GOOD!

THE BEST SIDE DISHES FOR RIBS

We've got over 30 ideas to try, so there's something for every craving. (These pair just as well with burgers or hot dogs!)

Loving Lately

  1. โ€‹Bury Our Bones In The Midnight Soil. A bit outside my usual, but after The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, I'm willing to try almost anything V.E. Schwab writes. I've been listening to the audiobook for this one, and the narration is EXCELLENT, even if the story is on the spooky side.
  2. โ€‹A Surprise Bedding Find. I splurged on a MUCH more expensive bedding set 4ish years ago during a Black Friday sale (and loved it!), but I just couldn't justify the price tag for refreshing my room this time around. I was SO pleasantly surprised that this more budget-friendly version looks better, has a more plush texture, and is delightfully breathable so I don't get hot. I like it better than the pricy version!
  3. โ€‹Reordering Some Empties. I also picked up another one of this pink-tinged undereye concealer (I wear "peach"). The pink-ish hue disappears once blended, but helps counteract the greenish-blue undereye circles I have. It leaves me feeling fresh and brightened up. A little goes a long way, so one tube will last months!

What are YOU loving? Anything I should try?

Happy Weekend, Friend! Happy Halloween weekend to those who celebrate! We're making Monster Face Smoothies in the morning and pumpkin shaped pizzas with our homemade pizza dough for dinner. Then on November 1st, I'm putting up my Christmas tree. Yes, it's early and yes, it brings me so much joy I don't mind being one of the early birds. November has so much delicious food coming our way (Thanksgiving side dishes! Desserts! Holiday breakfasts + treats!), but today, I've got a brand new recipe...

Happy Weekend, Friend! This time of year is a lot of things and one of those things is chili & cornbread! I'm a sucker for a good bowl of chili this time of year, and I love to freeze leftovers for lunches or other recipes (like chili mac!) another day. This week, I published two new recipe refreshes to update some of my favorites. Happy Weekend, Friend! We've been cooking our way through this month's meal plan, and one thing my kids are SUPER looking forward to this weekend is a batch of these juicy Chicken Parmesan Burgers. One of my kids doesn't like beef, so chicken burgers are always a win at my house, and this combination is UNBELIEVABLY good. They're a spin on our Chicken Parmesan Meatballs, and we love them so much they always need a spot in our rotation in one way or another. new recipe CHICKEN PARMESAN BURGERS...
