Movie Night Dinners To Make Weekends Feel Special

Happy Weekend, Friend!

Friday night is movie night at my house, and it's my kids' favorite night of the week. We spread out an old quilt, have a "picnic" dinner on the living room floor, and watch a movie together.

As my kids have grown up, the movies have, too, but one thing that never changes is how much my kids' love movie night dinner.

I pick things that are fun to eat, easy to eat on my living room floor (i.e. not something like spaghetti or soup!), and easy to clean-up, since I'd rather spend my time cozying up with my kids and a movie than scrubbing pots in the kitchen.

It's a great change from our normal routine, and something we all look forward to every week. In case you could use a little movie night inspiration, here are some of our favorites...

new recipe:

FRENCH BREAD PIZZA

Any kind of pizza is a win for my kids, and these French bread pizzas are a quick & easy option that doesn't require making pizza dough in advance! (The garlic butter + pizza sprinkle steps make all the difference here!)

easy sheet pan

BBQ CHICKEN NACHOS

Sneakily high in protein, easy to make, and SO GOOD. (A great way to use leftover chicken!)

high protein

BANG BANG CHICKEN BURGERS

A lighter take on takeout burgers that pack in lots of protein and major flavor. Both my kids love these, which feels like a huge win!

old-fashioned

GLUTEN-FREE STROMBOLI

Basically a pizza roll-up! This one uses our easy homemade dough and bakes up beautifully. Plus, who doesn't love dipping things in sauce!?

TURKEY BLTS WITH BASIL MAYO

A fun twist on the classic BLT! Adding turkey makes these sandwiches more filling, while the basil mayo adds a DELICIOUS layer of flavor that takes them over the top.

Loving Lately

  1. Dolly All The Time. I really, really enjoyed this audiobook and could barely put it down. If you've ever felt like you're the one who's always holding things together, this love story will make you feel seen!
  2. Some Kitchen Muscle. This jar opener was made for people with weak hands (thing arthritis, the elderly, or people without full hand mobility), but my kids and I are LOVING IT for those everyday hard-to-open bottles and jars. We all tried it out over the weekend on different bottles and jars and couldn't believe how well it worked!
  3. A Trailer I Can't Stop Watching. I cannot wait to see this!!! (Also: has anyone watched A Woman of Substance? Tell me what you think!)

What are YOU loving? Anything I should try?

P.S. Have a recipe request? Cooking question? Hit REPLY and let me know!

Happy Weekend, Friend! We've been cooking our way through this month's meal plan, and one thing my kids are SUPER looking forward to this weekend is a batch of these juicy Chicken Parmesan Burgers. One of my kids doesn't like beef, so chicken burgers are always a win at my house, and this combination is UNBELIEVABLY good. They're a spin on our Chicken Parmesan Meatballs, and we love them so much they always need a spot in our rotation in one way or another. new recipe CHICKEN PARMESAN BURGERS...
